Johnna Hartenstine, MCN, RDN, LD is known for her down-to-earth
yet direct, kind, and supportive approach with her patients. Her
primary focus is eating disorder treatment from an all foods fit
philosophy working towards mending one's relationship with food.
Additionally, she focuses on nutrition counseling for oncology & renal
conditions as well as general nutrition.
She integrates this with an evidence-based approach rooted in
medical nutrition therapy. This provides the right mix of creative and
logical understanding to one's own health journey. Her global culinary
perspective stems from her time living & traveling in Europe & Australia as well as the United States.
Johnna began her nutritional education with a Bachelor of Science
degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of
Arizona in Tucson, AZ. This led her to pursue a deeper understanding
of the role of nutrition at all stages of life & medical ailments through
her Masters in Clinical Nutrition degree from the University of Texas
Southwestern's Coordinated Program.
She previously worked with clients at Center for Discovery as their
national virtual dietitian for all levels of care (RTC, PHP, IOP) as well
as in-person at the Addison, Texas PHP/IOP program. Her clinical
expertise stems from her role at Medical City Dallas covering patients
for renal transplant, oncology, and pediatrics.
Johnna works at Nutrition DiscoveRD™ part-time providing virtual
nutrition counseling sessions for Texas, California, and Arizona residents ages 10 and up. When she’s not working, you’ll probably find her rollerblading, practicing sunrise yoga, exploring a local
