Johnna Hartenstine, MCN, RDN, LD is known for her down-to-earth, kind, and supportive approach with her patients. Her primary focus is eating disorder treatment from an all foods fit philosophy working towards mending one's relationship with food. She integrates this with an evidence-based approach, the right mix of creative and logical understanding to one's own health journey.

She began her nutritional education with a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. After exploring research opportunities in Germany, Netherlands, and Australia, she grew a curiosity for continued nutrition education. This led her to pursue a deeper understanding of the role of nutrition at all stages of life & medical ailments through her Masters in Clinical Nutrition degree from the University of Texas Southwestern's Coordinated Program. Here she concentrated her efforts on in-patient & out-patient oncology as well as eating disorder research surrounding Orthorexia Nervosa.

Johnna previously worked with clients at Center for Discovery as their national virtual dietitian for all levels of care (RTC, PHP, IOP) as well as in-person at the Addison, Texas PHP/IOP program. Her clinical expertise stems from her role at Medical City Dallas covering patients for pre & post-renal transplant, oncology, and pediatrics.

Johnna works at Nutrition DiscoveRD, LLC part-time providing virtual nutrition counseling sessions for Texas & California residents. When she’s not working, you’ll probably find her rollerblading, practicing sunrise yoga, traveling, or exploring a local bookshop.
